How many of us have a basement, attic, garage, or spare bedroom closet filled with barely used kids’ stuff?

It’s no secret that the things we buy for our children can be bulky, expensive, and outgrown in the blink of an eye by their quick development. Markid, a newly launched app is changing all of that, and you’re going to want to try it out.

Markid (pronounced maar-kit) is an online marketplace, tailored specifically for parents, by parents, who want to buy and sell their kids’ pre-loved items – while doing a little good along the way. With an easy to navigate platform and aesthetically pleasing icons, Markid is a one-stop-shop for clearing out your closet, making some extra cash, helping the planet, and getting name-brand items for less.

A few simple questions will get you started on your profile for perusing the mobile marketplace; things like your location, favorite categories, and gender or gender-neutral preferences are all included. Once your profile is complete, you can easily search for what you want by categories or brands. Markid’s categories are clear and concise, with options ranging from furniture to toys and everything in between. There’s no shortage of different brands to choose from either. Some of the most popular are 4moms, Happiest Baby (SNOO), UPPAbaby, Bugaboo, Melissa & Doug, Fisher-Price, Babyletto, and Graco. Once you’ve selected a brand or category, Markid’s filters will help you refine your search even more, making the process of getting what you need as seamless as possible.

If you’re not into buying, there’s no place better to start selling. The selling process is incredibly easy - a photo, a description of your item, and setting a price of your choice is all you need to get started.

You can also feel confident knowing that Markid is attracting serious buyers and accepting direct payment through their secure app (unlike some competing platforms where interest often varies and payment can be sketchy).

As a seller, it feels good to know that your items will go to a new home and be used again by someone who needs them. Creating sustainability for the earth and a ‘better future for all kids’ is a big part of the Markid mission and goes perfectly with their Instagram (@hellomarkid) hashtag, #GoodGoesAround. As if that’s not enough, the brand goes a step further by donating a portion of their revenues to non-profits like Baby Quest Foundation and the Neonatal Comfort Care Program, helping women with infertility and babies with life-limiting conditions.

Whether you’re looking to give a second life to your kids’ pre-loved items or attempting to approach parenthood sustainably, Markid is the solution for giving while also getting what you need!
