Top Career Fields for Remote Work

Every year FlexJobs announces the top 100 companies with remote work opportunities and almost every other day Working Momkind gets messages from moms inquiring about remote job opportunities. So we turned to FlexJobs— the leading job search site specializing in the best remote, part-time, freelance, and flexible jobs available.

FlexJobs compiles this list based on the companies who posted the most remote job listings for the year. According to FlexJobs, the companies on this list offered more remote-friendly positions than other companies.

As you embark on your search one thing to remember is that the meaning of “remote-friendly” may vary depending on the company and/or role you are applying for. Some companies might view “remote-friendly” positions as “100% remote work,” others as “partial remote work,” and some might just offer the opportunity to work remotely on a case by case basis.

If you are not sure whether the position you are applying to is remote or not, you can look for the following keywords: remote, work from home, work at home, virtual, flex job, U.S., anywhere, telecommute, home-based, independent, and/or freelance.

Still not sure? Apply anyway— you can always confirm during your interview!

Professional mamas looking for a career change with the possibility of working remotely can begin their search with the list below. If you click on the name of each company the link will take you directly to the careers page for that company.
